Heyyyoo watchaa doin? Well like usual, I wanna review about this novel that I just finished reading it, the 3rd book of the beautiful creatures series, Beautiful Chaos.
So let's review for a bit about what happened at the end of Book 2. Basically, Lena had claimed herself, being both Dark and Light, on her Seventeenth Moon. While Ridley lost her power as a Siren and Link became a Linkubus after being bitten by John, who went missing after that. After they returned from the Great Barrier, the Order was Broken because of the choice that Lena made.
In Book 3, everything went chaos. They started their school life after the long summer in very very hot weather. Lubbers were everywhere, the green had gone, replaced by brown charred grass. The lake dried. Everything went upside down. The Casters misfired their powers. Amma had gone weird too. And especially Ethan, he kept hearing voices and seeing a shadow lurking around him.
So they were finding a way to fix what was broken. Lena and Ethan found Sarafine's old things and discover that her past was the same as Lena. She struggled to be a dark caster because she had no choice. Sarafine was once Izabel, who had a heart, who loves her family, her husband and her baby, Lena. But everyone turned their backs against her just because she was dark, and thus making her fall into Abraham's tricks and became heartless. I got some sympathy to Sarafine because she didn't want to do what she did, but she was bound to. I hate the light casters for abandoning her like that. It was unfair you know. Huhu
The interesting part was when Link became an Incubus. He started to gain strength and attracted girls, especially Savannah. Haha..he was cool and I like him more. Although he had changed, his loyalty to his friend and his love for Rid stayed the same. Meanwhile Rid was heartbroken to become a Mortal and she started creating chaos in the school, and eventually, she couldn't stand being a Mortal while Link had become Incubus, so she made a decision that disappointed Link. Awww, Link, my heart hurt to see you and Rid like that.
Here and there, Abraham made the chaos worse. He destroyed Gatlin little by little, burned the library, sent an earthquake, destroyed Ethan's aunts' house, that made one of her aunt unconscious in the hospital. His goal was to get John Breed, which was found eventually in Ridley's room by Ethan and his friends. John was trapped in the Arclight and Ridley was using him as a tool for her power. But well I like John in this book, more than Ethan He was sent to Macon's study room in the Tunnel where there was Liv too. After the 17th Moon, Liv had stayed there and didn't associate with others unless with Macon. Sometimes I sympathized her because she had saved them but was being abandoned like that. So after they found John, they tried to get information from him as he may be related to the Broken Order. John became a good guy, hoho, and fell in love with Liv. They were so sweet and yes I admit it that I like couples in this book except for Ethan and Lena, because damn..they were so complicated. Kuikui.. I didn't know that I would love John and Liv because, in book 2, I didn't like them. well..people change and feelings change too.
While they were trying to find a way to save the world, Ethan sensed that Amma was doing something unusual. She visited a bokor, who used black magic, and made a deal with him because she was worried about something. What even weirder was himself. Ethan kept forgetting everything, and he didn't like what he once liked, and loved what he once hated. He kept losing himself day by day. Until the day he met Lilum, the Demon Queen. To fix the Order, a sacrifice must be made, and only the One Who Is Two could be the sacrifice. Ethan kept wondering who was it, till he happened to know the truth.
(SPOILER ALERTTT!!! Well actually I had given so many spoilers before. Choiii)
The words that he kept hearing from the shadow, "I am waiting." The Wheels of Fate. The Endless River. The Crucible. The Sacrifice. It was him. He was the One Who Is Two. The shadow that had been following around him was himself, his other soul. When he died on the night of Sixteenth Moon, he had left half his soul in the other world. So now he had no choice but to go. To die. For a new Order to come. To save everyone he loved. But that meant to leave everyone he loved.
Lena was heartbroken. Her world without him meant nothing. Amma was in a rage. Link, Liv, Marian, Macon had to let him go. So in the end, Ethan did what he must do, and left everyone behind. I was sad too, but you know every action has consequences, and that was the price they must pay.
So that was the end. Actually, that was not the real ending, cause heyyyy, there is Book 4!! Hagagagagagaga.. but I think that was the perfect ending for me. Yeah Ethan died. Cause he had created chaos that he too must pay for it. I don't think I will read the 4th book, cause you know it must be the story in the other world and I didn't like that. Lena must do a stupid thing again to bring Ethan back. I knew it.
Therefore let's stop here. I actually enjoyed reading Book 3 than Book 2 cause the storyline was simpler and lovely to read, so I hope you enjoy this review I wrote, and well... to put in a nutshell, I love Link the most. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee get me a guy like Link, I want him so bad.
