And I think it was so splendid. I really love it 😍😍😍
I know this movie was out in 2017 but I just had the chance to watch it. And yes I don't regret watching it at all coz it was so marvelous that it caught my heart.
It is a musical, so there are many songs in the movie and all the songs are awesome. I love hearing them.
The story is based on real story, which tells about P.T.Barnum and his dream. He came from a poor family but his dreams are a lot bigger than that. He married his first love, his master's daughter,Charity and bore two daughters with her. To make his dreams happened, he opened up a circus which originally was a museum and gathered all the unique and talented people for his greatest show.
And this musical told me a lotta things, that every second of it makes my heart touched.
From the beginning, the love between Barnum and Charity was so pure. The love between the poor and the rich. But what I like the most is Charity. She was so lovely and loyal. She didn't care about money or wealth cause she only wanted to live happily with her love. Eventhough she was rich, she stayed with her husband through ups and downs, since they were young till they had daughters. Her love never changed. Aww mann
Then the Circus family. Barnum found them and give them home. They were different from others, whom normal people would say "ugly" "weird" "alien". But Barnum gave hopes to them, calling them beautiful, coz yes they were actually beautiful. A hidden beauty under the hideous scars. I love the show ensemble. They taught me to accept yourself for who you are and accept others for who they are. We are different, but that means we can share the differences and make the world a more interesting place.
Then Zac Efron who played as Carlyle, who was a rich man and also a showman. Barnum asked him to join his lively show and get out of his bored life. So he risked his life and joined Barnum's show. Then she met Anne who was the trapeze girl and he fell in love with her. But of course his parents didnt like her because of the different caste. But eventually he decided to go after her cause she was his happiness. Omoooo.. and Zac was so handsome in this movie, I likeeeeee.
The heartbreaking part was when Barnum met Jenny, a talented opera singer. Since he watched her performance, he was starstruck and made a tour with Jenny. He forgot about his subordinates, he forgot about his family, all he wanted was to be more popular and accepted by the rich people. He left his family and friends for Jenny. My heart breaks with Charity. She already warned Barnum to not go. I remember the remarkable words from her, "You don't have to make everyone likes you. You just need a few people that love you." Luckily, he realized about it in the middle of tour. He went back but his circus was burned. He lost everything, Charity went back to her parents' house cause Barnum didn't tell her bout the expenses he risked to tour with Jenny. She was disappointed.
That clearly tells you that you can lost everything in a moment if you are too greedy. Apa orang melayu cakap, yang dikejar tak dapat, yang dikendong berciciran. Haaaa
But lucky Barnum, he has his loyal circus friends, and his loyal wife. He realized that everything he needed was there, just he couldnt see it before.
At last, he got back together with his wife and children, built back his circus to give the greatest show ever, continued his dreams. It was a happy ending. ❤
Ahhh and I just noticed that Hugh Jackman who played as Barnum is Wolverine. Oh god..😭 my wolverine can sing that good!
